Check account balance and transfer money through USSD Code

Now a days most of the banks has started USSD service for checking account balance and transfer money even you do not have smart phone or internet connections.USSD stands for unstructured supplementary service data which directly communicate with the server of telecom company by dialing a code for your bank.Once you dial USSD code it gives access to your bank account and you can perform the transactions.

All customers who have registered their mobile number with the bank can use this service by simply dialing a USSD code for their bank. USSD Code starts with '*' and ends with # .

Currently USSD services are available in multiple languages. You can use below codes to use your language.
- English *99#
- Hindi *99*22#
- Tamil *99*23#
- Telugu *99*24#
- Malayalam *99*25#
- Kannada *99*26#
- Gujarati *99*27#
- Marathi *99*28#
- Bengali *99*29#
- Punjabi *99*30#

Steps to use USSD code for Banking

Step 1. Register your mobile number with your bank if you have not registered your number yet.

Step 2. Dial *99# with your registered mobile number if you would like to get information in English language. You can dial code as per your language of choice like- for Hindi dial #99*22#

Step 3. Enter one of the following -

- Enter three letter abbreviation (short name) of your bank Like- For HDFC Bank type HDF, For SBI type SBI

OR

- Enter First four letter of your bank's IFSC code.

OR

- First 2-digits of your bank's numeric USSD code (Given below in this post, enter first two digit agter #99*). Like- For SBI - 41, For PNB - 42 etc.

Now, hit send or call button.

Step 4. Now, you will be able to see multiple options that can be vary by banks. Some of the options are -
1. Account Balance
2. Mini Stmt
3. Send Money using MMID
4. Send money using IFSC
5. Show MMID
6. Send money using Aadhaar Number
7. MPIN
8. Generate OTP
