List of valid identity proofs for Indian Railway passengers - railway ticket valid id proofs

As per the Indian Railway rule any class passengers on a PNR for their undertaking journey will have to produce any one of the following 10 prescribed proofs of identity in original. Failing them all the passengers booked on that ticket will be treated as traveling without ticket and will be charged accordingly.

1.Voter Identity card issued by Election Commision of India.


3.PAN Card issued by Income Tax of India.

4.Driving Licence issued by Regional Transport Office(RTO).

5.Any Photo identity card that have serial number and issued by the Central/State Government.

6.Student Identity Card having photograph and issued by any recognized School/College for their students.

7.Nationalized Bank Passbok with photograph. As of now there are 19 Nationalized Banks in India.

8. Any credit cards issued by the banks having laminated photograph.

9. Aadhaar Card

10. Photo identity cards having serial number issued by Public Sector Undertaking of State/Central Government, District Administration, Municipal bodies and Penchant Administration.
