IRCTC Tatkal Booking Timing Change 2015 | Indian Railway new Tatkal booking timing for AC and Non-AC

As of now most of the time when we book tatkal ticket we face problem of timeout due to load on IRCTC server also we have seen a lot of rush to the railway station counter to book tatkal ticket.

Currently IRCTC manages to handle bookings of 2,000 tickets per minute and it manages around 1.2 lakh concurrent connections on its IRCTC web servers.

To resolve this problem Indian Railway had considered to divide the timing of tatkal booking tickets. As of now for all type of class like- AC/Non-AC booking timing is 10 AM. But from 15 June 2015 onwards the timing for tatkal booking will be -

Indian Railway or IRCTC AC Classes Tatkal Booking Timing - 10 AM onwards(previous day of journey)

Indian Railway or IRCTC Non-AC Classes Tatkal Booking Timing - 11 AM onwards(previous day of journey)

The change has been effected to facilitate hassle-free booking by reducing the load on the server.

For IRCTC ticket agents timing will be below -

Indian Railway or IRCTC AC Class Tatkal Booking Timing for agents - 10.30 AM onwards(previous day of journey)

Indian Railway or IRCTC Non-AC Class Tatkal Booking Timing for agents - 11.30 AM onwards(previous day of journey)

This change will help to facilitate hassle free booking by reducing the load on the Indian railway server. Currently about 10,000 to 12,000 tickets are being booked at online IRCTC ticketing site during thhe peak hours. The division of timing for AC and non-AC Tatkal tickets will help to reduce the load at ticket counter and the IRCTC website.

Recently railway ministry have taken decision to allow only one booking in one user login session on IRCTC website. As per the railway official there will be a restriction of only one booking in one login session, after this user/IRCTC agents will be automatically logged out.

IRCTC is a biggest ticket booking portal on which

- Around 5 lakh tickets booking occurs daily
- Around 1.25 lakhs ticket cancellation occurs daily
- Around 18 lakhs logins per day
- Total of 53% ticket booking through IRCTC portal
