Your bank charging you for the SMS alerts - SMS alert charges for all Banks in India



Now almost all the Banks across the country are charging for the SMS alert facility. As we know that in the starting all the Banks in the country were providing SMS alert facility free of cost to their customers.

But When they thought that now customers are became the habitual for the SMS alert then they had started to charge the money from the customer's pocket.

I personally suggest you to please verify the charges from your bank if you have opted/opting for the SMS alert facility.

Below are the SMS alert charges of some re-known Banks across the India -

State Bank Of India

Rs. 15 per quarter.

Punjab National Bank

Rs. 15 per quarter from 01st July 2013.

Currently, Below accounts have been exempted from the SMS alert charges -

1 Senior Citizen accounts
2 Staff accounts
3 Retired staff accounts
4 Vidyarthi accounts
5 Mitra accounts

ICICI Bank

Charging Rs. 15 per quarter (inclusive of taxes) effective from the May 1, 2013 to all the Savings Account customers.

HDFC Bank

Effective from 1st April 2013.

For Salary and Savings Account customers- Rs. 15/- excluding taxes per quarter + Service Tax @ 12% and Education Cess @ 3%
For Current Account customers - Rs. 25/- excluding taxes per quarter + Service Tax @ 12% and Education Cess @ 3%
